D&D Insider - First Impressions

I’ve gone ahead and signed up for D&D Insider, which is currently offered for free. I’ll admit, so far so good.
The layout of Wizards’ D&D page is definitely different that what it had been in the past. The new sections, for Dragon and Dungeon magazines predominantly, keep to the new layout design. However, most of the other navigation links on the left side bring you back to the old layout design.
The content they have up so far that requires a D&D Insider account is at least interesting to read. However, nothing that’s actually useful at the moment.
One worry I did have about D&D Insider is what would be done with all the older content for 3.5 and earlier. Thankfully, all that content is still there, and easily accessable. However, navigating between the new and old layouts may be a bit disorienting.
For now, I guess we’ll need to wait until October, when the first Dragon and Dungeon articles are published in Wizards’ site. I imagine that the quality of the articles may play a large role on how successful D&D Insider will be in the long run.
