Expand Beyond Just D&D?

I’ve been doing some thinking lately. While writing about D&D, and what can possibly be done to make the D&D experience better, I’ve been running into some mental blocks. This has me wondering if I should expand the focus of this blog a bit, and write about other areas that are of interest to me, but will also provide value to everyone who reads this blog.

So to start, I’m going to resort my categories a bit, and even trim them down. The current blog posts that are purely focused on D&D will be marked as such still. And I still plan on writing future posts that cover purely D&D related stuff. The only other current category I’ve created that will stay intact will be the Asides, which will be what this post is marked as. All the other categories will be dumped.

A couple of other topics I’m thinking about writing about include running a business, personal development, and perhaps a little bit in game design as well. Since I’ve been putting more focus in these particular areas, I think it would be beneficial to write about my experiences. It’s very possible that it will be beneficial to all of you, as you can learn from my successes and mistakes, and perhaps apply them to your lives somehow. From what I’ve seen, this seems to be working well for other blogs I’ve been reading, which are:

Coincidentally, these same blogs are what inspired me to start this one.

Since I’ll probably be changing the focus of my blog, the name of it is most likely to change as well. And since I haven’t even hosted this on a public server still, as of this writing, I at least have plenty of flexibility. I could just use my name, but I don’t know how memorable that will be, aside from people probably having trouble how exactly it’s spelled. Though, given my predominantly French blood, I might try something like CrazyFrenchman.com, or something like that. Of course, I’ll have to check to see if that domain name has already been bought by someone else.

So I’m going to start transforming this blog into something a little bit more than just a D&D blog. Not only is the D&D community huge already, but there’s plenty of D&D resources out there as well. Though I really don’t think there’s much out there that discusses how to improve the D&D experience, even with the additional research I’ve done. So I’ll still, at the very least, continue to write about ways to make D&D even more fun than it already is. :)

If you like this post, buy me an ale!
