Actually, Harry Turtledove's The Case of the Toxic Spell Dump would make a really AWESOME modern fantasy campaign setting.  Magic-powered technology, reciprocal environmental costs from magic, demon-strations, flying carpets on the freeway...  I know his WorldWar books were under consideration from the d20 system but neither that nor the console game ever came through.</description>
