Stop Your Dice From Flying Around

Browsing around (as I’m prone to do, especially when I’m suffering from writer’s block), I happened across what seems to be a good way to keep all your dice in one place. And this is not just for storage, but also for rolling the dice as well. An interesting comment made by Lord Skudley on RoleplayingTips.com described about how he bought a Chip & Dip bowl set and uses it for his dice.

Dice Bowl

What I really like about this is that it’ll keep dice from falling off the table and onto the floor, as well as preventing them from flying around randomly (unless players are chucking the dice around).

What other ways do you use to keep your dice together? And what do you do to keep your dice from falling onto the floor?

If you like this post, buy me an ale!

I have that very same bowl because I thought it looked nice, turns out it stinks to wash. This is a much better purpose for it. You can buy it at target.

Just to show how much of a Geek I am, when I saw this at Target my one and only thought was “Hey, great dice bowl!!!”

I didn’t even realize it was a chip and dip bowl until I unpacked it and wondered outloud what that silly little white bowl was for…
“It’s for the dip dad!” says my daughter, “you’re such a Geek!”

That’s actually a really nifty idea. I’m sure everybody has had problems with the dice going everywhere, or trying to find a nice flat surface.

Would this make a good birthday present for a friend of mine who is 12 years old?

Well, I think this would be more handy for the DM. If your friend is the DM, it may be a good gift for him/her, if you really think it’ll be a good gift.
